UPCOMING (July 2025): Modesto's 150th Anniversary

Design captures the history of Modesto, California from an architectural and cultural perspective using colorful vignettes weaved together to create a visually captivating, iconic mural to celebrate the city’s 150th anniversary. Inspired by historic places such as McHenry Mansion, Graceada Park, Hawke Castle, Crow House, Walton House, Dry Creek Bridge, Southern Pacific Railroad, Historic Cruise Route, State Theater, and the Gallo Center for the Arts (to name a few), it is the Modesto Arch and its curved sweeping lines that tie together the highlights of the city’s iconic landmarks and history. The overarching style draws from mid-century modern architecture combined with Modesto’s music, art, and car culture. Furthermore, the selected color palette creates an engaging and captivating representation of Modesto’s geography, climate, and diversity.
